It’s done! It’s done! Holy shit! IT. IS. DONE. My freaking book is done! The story has been finished for a while, but I just completed the very last round of edits. It’s hands-off now, and I am so excited. It has been a grueling process, to say the least. I actually can’t believe that I don’t have anything more to write or edit. It feels strange, but a good kind of strange. I can finally move on to other projects once I have this one out into the world. There are still about four to six weeks until it is officially released, but having the edits done and the cover finalized is making it all seem real.

It took a few weeks to fully get the cover right. The designer I worked with gave me a first draft that I was less than happy with. I could somewhat see their vision, but it didn’t quite fit. They were amazing at taking my feedback and suggestions, and gave me a second draft that I loved. I think the cover fits the vibe of my book and goes perfectly with my vision. Seeing the final draft of the cover of my book for the first time was amazing and something I’ll always remember. I can’t wait to finally post it for everyone to see, but we’ve still got a few weeks until then.

This isn’t going to be a terribly long update because the main point of it was to announce that the book is finished and I needed to tell someone. I’m so excited and so so nervous, but in less than two months, my book will be out there. It is so close to my heart because it is the first full-length story I have ever completed and my debut novel as an author, so be gentle with it.

I plan to make more posts in the coming weeks about my inspiration, how I channeled the emotions to write it, and a peek into my writing process and how my story ideas come about. I will be giving some sneak peeks of the book as well. I hope everyone loves this story as much as I do! (I know I’ve said that before, but still)
